AVIATION EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE

Pay Rate: Competitive
Grade: K
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday, flexible working hours between earlies and lates. Oncall one weekend per month
Location: Bristol, BS48 3DY

We're now looking for a Back of House Operations Manager to play an integral role at the heart of our operations, ensuring that every flight is a success.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

  • Managing 3 departments - Ramp, Operation/dispatch & Baggage Handling
  • Ensure the customer's SLA & KPI's are delivered consistently to demanding service level standards and set on time performance targets
  • Effective delivery of our customer SLA's driven by operational team efficiencies
  • Manage any day to day operational incidents - disruption management
  • To ensure consistent comprehensive practices are in place for management of all aspects of the company handbook e.g. disciplinary, absence, grievances, appraisals & performance management
  • Ensure communications within the department are effective and consistent
  • Conducting probationary reviews, coaching and developing staff through regular appraisals in line with Company policies and Procedures
  • Ensure appropriate and accurate reporting of all accidents and incidents incurred.
  • Create and sustain a safe working environment and culture.
  • Ensure all staff comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and revisions
  • Ensure all staff comply with the Company safety and security standards
  • Continually challenge existing practices to create improvements in all areas
  • Ensure that all staff are fully updated and informed of all operational issues, company updates and station operational notices
  • Line management of Station SOMs
  • Day to day OTP reporting, trend analysis & continuous improvement
  • Build key relationships with our customer and their 3rd party suppliers
  • Work closely with operational and senior management teams to create ways of improving our staffing efficiencies across our business.
  • Be familiar with all company and airline ground handling manuals to drive a compliant operation

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

  • Supervisory experience
  • Aviation experience essential, especially ramp, operation and management of operation
  • Can work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Are confident dealing with challenging situations
  • Work well within a team and have excellent communication skills

To obtain a full airside ID, you must:

  • Be able to provide five years' address history
  • Be able to provide five years' reference history (employment/education/benefit claim/character)
  • Pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
