About The Role

Taktile is a high-growth, post product-market-fit start-up, on a fast trajectory to becoming a market leader in automated decisioning. We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join the Decide Team, responsible for our core decision execution engine, complex back-end systems involved in feature computation, and the overall decision flow canvas. If you are ambitious, have strong engineering fundamentals, excel at simple solutions, and enjoy working in a dynamic team, this role is for you!

What You'll Do

1. Work primarily on backend components written in Python / FastAPI, hosted on AWS serverless architecture: build and enhance our execution engine, feature computation backend, and other complex subsystems; review pull requests thoroughly; optimize CI/CD pipelines.
2. Participate actively in team rituals such as daily syncs, planning sessions, demos, and technical deep-dives.
3. Grow professionally by learning from experienced team members, contributing to foundational product layers, and joining cross-team learning groups.

Requirements

1. Work location options include our Berlin HQ in Germany or the Iasi Hub in Romania. Relocation services are not provided.
2. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective remote communication.
3. Strong engineering fundamentals with a passion for simplicity and precision.

Ideal, But Not Required

1. DynamoDB, Postgres, Pydantic, AWS Lambda, SQLAlchemy experience.
2. Frontend development experience (e.g., React or similar frameworks).

Required Experience

1. Prior industry experience with Python.
2. Experience with databases and cloud providers like AWS.
3. Proficiency in RESTful API development and management.
