Job summary

Backend .NET Developer (C# / Web API)

Norwich, Norfolk | £38,000 | Full-Time

We're recruiting a Backend .NET Developer to join a Norwich-based software business, working on the development and ongoing improvement of a data analytics platform used by businesses to access and understand their financial information.

Working as part of a small development team and reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining backend services, developing APIs and integrating data from multiple sources. This is a hands-on development role with involvement in new features, system performance and ongoing platform improvements.

The Role

• Designing, developing and maintaining backend services and RESTful APIs using C# and .NET
• Building integrations between software applications, databases and third-party platforms
• Working with SQL databases, including writing and optimising queries
• Collaborating with developers and data engineers to deliver new features
• Improving API performance, reliability and scalability
• Investigating technical issues and supporting ongoing platform development
• Maintaining clean, well-structured code and technical documentation

About You

You'll have at least two years' experience in a Backend Developer, .NET Developer or Full Stack Developer role, with strong practical knowledge of C#, .NET and Web APIs.

Good SQL skills are important, including experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server. You'll also understand RESTful APIs, data structures and version control using Git.

Experience with AWS, Angular, React, Vue or CI/CD processes would be useful, although these aren't essential.

You'll be a confident problem-solver who enjoys working collaboratively, taking ownership of development tasks and finding practical solutions to technical challenges.
