Job description

Kido is a place where innovation and imagination unite to create modern Early Years settings. We’re looking for a Room Leader to join our team at Kido International Nursery & Preschool Streatham, 113 Blegborough Rd, London SW16 6DL.

We operate in India, USA, and the UK, with all our UK nurseries rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted. Our nurseries are based in London and Windsor, and we are expanding with 1-2 new openings each year. We blend practices from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf Steiner approaches, offering a curriculum for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We believe in a mix of free and structured play within an engaging environment, fostering love, care, and attention to build a strong foundation for children’s early years.

What we offer

The Room Leader role offers up to £31,000 salary for full-time, 40 hours/week. Benefits include:

Role responsibilities

As a Room Leader, you'll embody our values and lead by example. You will:

  • Take full ownership of your room, creating inspiring learning experiences aligned with the EYFS and Kido curriculum
  • Lead your team to plan and execute activities catering to each child's needs
  • Support educators in observing, assessing, and setting goals for children
  • Model excellence and ensure standards are met
  • Utilize indoor and outdoor spaces to foster curiosity and exploration
  • Communicate effectively with parents, children, and colleagues
  • Assess and record children’s progress, celebrating achievements
  • Create a nurturing environment respecting diversity and individual needs
Candidate requirements
  • Level 3 childcare qualification or higher (see gov.uk for accepted qualifications)
  • Alignment with our core values: Listen, Learn, Lead
  • Experience as a Level 3 Educator, Room Leader, or Deputy
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to provide details of unspent convictions if shortlisted, and undergo DBS checks
