The Vacancy

We are seeking to appoint a motivated individual who is passionate and knowledgeable about breastfeeding, either through their own personal experience or through significant experience of supporting mothers to breastfeed.

This is a full time temporary position until March 2026. The post holder will be able to demonstrate that they have the skills to engage with pregnant and breastfeeding women and their families across North Lincolnshire, providing information and support regarding the benefits of breastfeeding.

A key element of this role is the ability to recognise and understand the different needs and circumstances of individual families when supporting them throughout their feeding journey. The role includes providing education and support to mothers both before and after the birth of baby, within family hubs, in their home and community settings.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Baby Feeding team, family hubs staff, and volunteer peer supporters as well as other local authority services and external organisations.

They will be influential in delivering services to ensure that breastfeeding information, support and advice is available to all parents to improve breastfeeding rates and reduce health inequalities.

Excellent communication and engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to work with parents from a range of diverse cultures and backgrounds, ensuring the service is accessible to all population groups.

Please see attached job description and employee specification which you should refer to when completing your application to demonstrate you meet the essential criteria for the role.
