The role provides leadership across adult communities, based at Community Mental Health Recovery Services in East Surrey. The postholder will work flexibly within all Community services as needed.

Main duties of the job

Job Overview

1. Provide compassionate and effective leadership to occupational therapists within the service/locality/sector.
2. Contribute to overall leadership of the service/locality/sector.
3. Deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions, both group and individual, for people with complex needs, in line with occupational therapy pathways.
4. Communicate effectively with clinicians, managers, service users, carers, families, stakeholders, and agencies.
5. Supervise and mentor occupational therapists within the service.
6. Ensure delivery of occupational therapy student placements.
7. Lead on service development and audits within individual services and the wider occupational therapy team.
8. Be an active member of the occupational therapy leadership team.
9. Contribute to continuing professional development (CPD) activities within the service.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Occupational Therapy professional qualification
• Extensive post-qualification clinical experience with complex needs
• Experience applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
• Highly specialist knowledge of assessment and treatment models
• Experience contributing to service development and projects
• Supervision experience
• Experience supporting students on placement
• Experience representing occupational therapy within the service and trust
• UK driving license and access to a car
• Strong clinical reasoning skills
• Knowledge of group therapy and group facilitation experience
