Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced community mental health nurse to join Elmbridge Neighbourhood Mental Health Team. The role supports individuals in the community, with opportunities for both full-time and part-time (4 days/week) positions.

You will deliver comprehensive assessments and work within a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driving licence and unrestricted use of a car for community visits.
• Experience in community mental health settings preferred.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and deliver assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments for referred clients and support individuals in mental health crises in the community.
• Manage a defined caseload and deliver a range of interventions.
• Lead and take professional responsibility for service users within the team.
• Engage in opportunities to deliver low-intensity psychological interventions.

Job description

Elmbridge Neighbourhood Mental health Team in the Complex Needs pathway is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic community mental health nurse (NMC) to join our team. We have two roles: full time and part time- 4 days per week. Please mention in supporting statement which role you would like to apply.

The team is moving through a transition to an All-Age Neighbourhood Mental Health Team to provide more joined up mental health care for our community.

As part of our multi-disciplinary team, the successful applicant will deliver comprehensive assessments and a variety of approaches, interventions, and treatments to individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues, supporting them in their personal recovery journey.

Subject to reasonable adjustments in respect of any disability, candidates must possess a valid driving licence and be able to drive and have the unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times including community based work., You will be required to take lead and professional responsibility for a number of service users. This role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You must be committed to delivering a high-quality service, working both independently and as part of our well-established, innovative, and recovery-focused team to meet the needs of service users and their carers.

In addition to managing a defined caseload, the successful applicant will conduct initial assessments for clients referred to the service and support individuals experiencing mental health crises in the community. There are various training opportunities available to enhance skills in delivering low-intensity psychological interventions.
