B3 Inpatient Booking Coordinator and Outpatient Booking Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Booking Coordinators (Outpatient and Inpatient) to join the Cardiology Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy challenges and are proactive in their approach.

The successful candidates will be required to maintain high accuracy standards, possess excellent organisational skills, and demonstrate initiative in managing their workload.

Ideal candidates should have a friendly, proactive attitude, previous administrative experience, and strong communication skills. They should meet the main duties outlined in the job description.

Applicants should have a good standard of English and Maths, and ideally possess knowledge of medical terminology. Proficiency in MS Office and other IT systems is essential.

Both positions are full-time (37.5 hours) and are permanent.

Main duties of the job
  1. Schedule patients into cath labs based on Trust and clinical criteria, identifying capacity shortfalls.
  2. Process patient appointments and procedures using hospital information systems.
  3. Notify patients of new or changed appointments or procedures.
  4. Manage inpatient waiting lists using various systems.
  5. Input and retrieve data on Trust IT systems in accordance with policies.
  6. Analyze and extract complex data sets from multiple sources.
  7. Serve as a point of contact for service users.
  8. Provide non-clinical advice and information to patients regarding appointments and other issues.
  9. Manage outpatient waiting lists and referrals, including GP, internal, and tertiary referrals.
  10. Handle telephone enquiries professionally.
