STS Aviation Services is hiring a B2 Avionics Lead in Birmingham, United Kingdom. In this role, you will oversee and supervise a skilled team of avionics technicians while supporting the delivery of high-quality aircraft modification and maintenance projects. Working closely with the B2 Engineer, you will help plan and coordinate tasks, resolve technical challenges, and keep all stakeholders informed throughout the programme. Your leadership will ensure safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained across all avionic activities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Wiring terminations and testing
• Removal and installation of various shelves, panels, and equipment
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and regulatory requirements
• Develop and deliver training for technicians, engineers, and operators
• Collaborate with engineering teams on avionics modifications and upgrades
• Work with stakeholders to align avionics solutions with operational needs
• Track adherence to allocated task card hours for avionics maintenance and modifications
• Identify discrepancies between planned and actual hours, analysing root causes
• Escalate variations to stakeholders, including maintenance managers, planners, and finance teams
• Recommend process improvements to optimise efficiency and resource allocation
• Support data-driven decision-making for labour forecasting and project timelines
• Support avionics system testing, validation, and troubleshooting
• Provide mentorship to junior avionics personnel

Skills and Abilities:

• Completed an engineering apprenticeship—ideally in Aeronautical engineering or military equivalent
• Minimum of 8 years aircraft experience
• Excellent knowledge of reading manufacturers drawings and SRMs
• Previous aircraft production and/or modification experience
• Previous supervisory/lead experience
• Military aircraft experience preferred
• Excellent knowledge of Avionics systems
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of MS Office applications
• Eligible to work and live in the UK
• Subject to UK security Vetting

Part-145 Training Requirements:

• Initial Human Factors; Continuation Training Human Factors
• Initial SFAR phase 1&2; Continuation Training SFAR phase 1&2
• Initial EWIS group 1&2 (including EWIS group 1 Module G); Continuation Training EWIS group 1&2
• ETOPS
• RVSM
