B&Q Customer Advisor Apprenticeship - Northampton

  • Shift work including weekends, bank holidays, and late evenings, 7am-10pm
Join our team and become an expert advisor—an inspiration and guide for our customers. You will get to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales skills are important, along with managing stock, setting up displays, and maintaining the store's appearance. You’ll have opportunities to learn paint-mixing and timber cutting, but delivering excellent customer service will be your main focus.

Daily roles and responsibilities include:

  1. Actively approach customers and engage with them naturally
  2. Understand customer needs and provide suitable solutions
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to support store operations
  4. Turn negative customer interactions into positive outcomes
  5. Encourage customer feedback and share it with managers to improve service
  6. Utilise all available tools and systems to maximise sales
  7. Understand and follow relevant processes and policies
  8. Operate safely and legally, taking personal responsibility
  9. Perform other duties as reasonably required

As a Customer Advisor, you will work towards the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification alongside your daily responsibilities.

Future Prospects

Ongoing training and development. The apprenticeship duration is approximately 15 months, with a permanent contract upon joining.

Training Provided

Customer Service Practitioner Level 2, including Functional Skills in Maths and English.
