Job summary

Doherty Associates is seeking a senior consultant to design and deliver enterprise Azure Virtual Desktop solutions. You will work across discovery, design and implementation, aligning with security & governance needs and engaging with enterprise stakeholders.

You will lead technical workshops, contribute to presales, and ensure handover with clear documentation. Strong Azure, Entra ID, and IaC skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience designing and delivering Azure Virtual Desktop for enterprise or complex environments.
• Experience delivering client-facing consulting engagements in a B2B setting, including workshops & stakeholder management.
• Strong understanding of Entra ID, identity integration, and conditional access for cloud/hybrid.
• Solid Azure networking knowledge: VNETs, routing, private connectivity, DNS, hub-spoke/landing zones.
• Practical FSLogix experience with profile containers and storage considerations.
• Proficiency with PowerShell for deployment, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Ability to produce professional technical documentation for customers.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and optimise enterprise AVD environments including host pools and profiles.
• Translate customer requirements into secure, scalable AVD designs aligned with best practices.
• Implement supporting services: Entra ID, CA, networking, DNS and security controls.
• Deliver infrastructure components using IaaS, storage, monitoring and backups.
• Use PowerShell and IaC to automate deployments and standardise operations.
• Contribute to DevOps practices with Bicep, Terraform, Azure DevOps or GitHub.
