Job summary

Methods Consulting is seeking an Azure Network Engineer to design, build, secure and manage networking solutions across cloud and hybrid environments for public and private sector clients in the United Kingdom.

You will work with architects, cloud engineers and cybersecurity specialists to translate requirements into secure, scalable designs. A strong Azure networking background and relevant certifications are essential for success.

Qualifications

Proven experience designing, implementing or supporting Azure networking solutions.
Strong understanding of Azure networking services (VNet, subnets, NSGs, Firewall, Load Balancing).
Experience with hybrid connectivity (VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual WAN).
Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, NAT, traffic inspection).
Experience integrating Azure networking with Microsoft 365 and on‑premises infra.
Knowledge of Zero Trust and cloud security best practices.
Ability to troubleshoot connectivity, DNS, routing, firewall and latency issues.
Experience in Agile delivery and producing technical documentation.
Strong stakeholder management and ability to explain complex concepts.
Self-motivated and collaborative across client environments.

Responsibilities

Design Azure networking solutions aligned to customer cloud strategies and requirements.
Build, configure and support VNet, subnets, NSGs, ASGs and NICs.
Implement secure cloud and hybrid connectivity patterns (VPN, ExpressRoute, VWAN, private endpoints).
Configure network security controls (Azure Firewall, WAF, DDoS, NSGs).
Implement load balancing and traffic management (LB, App Gateway, Front Door, Traffic Manager).
Apply secure-by-design patterns across network segmentation and routing.
Produce high-quality network designs and deployment handbooks.
Collaborate with architects, cloud engineers and security specialists; align with stakeholders.
Maintain connectivity between Azure and on-premises environments; cloud and third-party platforms.
Monitor and adjust routing, peering, hub‑and‑spoke models; support testing and release management.
Contribute to governance, naming standards, policy compliance and cost management.
Establish monitoring using Azure Monitor, Network Watcher and related tooling.
Investigate network incidents and performance issues; support transition to live service.
