Job summary

This role focuses on leading technical delivery, enabling teams, and shaping platform architectures using Azure (and AWS) in a consulting context.

You will work primarily on client projects, with time for internal initiatives and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of 4+ engineers and acting as the technical owner of a project.
• Azure Platform DevOps, Infrastructure Automation & Deployment experience
• Expert-level Azure certification (e.g. AZ-400 DevOps Engineer Expert or AZ-305 Solutions Architect Expert)
• Demonstrable experience in automating operations tasks with scripting languages
• Experience creating/maintaining production software delivery pipelines using CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab)
• Deep experience with Azure across PaaS and IaaS hosting models
• Hands-on experience of a second major cloud platform, ideally AWS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to describe complex architectures to non-specialists
• Experience delivering alongside client teams and third-party suppliers
• Drive for self-improvement and learning including new languages
• Approach solving problems pragmatically
• Experience mentoring/managing junior engineers
• Experience using AI or Agentic techniques (GitHub CoPilot, Claude Code)
• Active SC clearance for this role.

Responsibilities

• Explain complex architectures to stakeholders and ensure successful outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive learning across the team.
