Job Title: Azure Data Engineer - Java Development - Heathrow

Location: Heathrow - Once a month

Salary/Rate: Up to £586 a day Inside IR35

Start Date: June

Job Type: 6 Month Contract (with scope to extend)

Company Introduction

We are looking for an Azure Data Engineer with strong Java coding experience and expertise with Java management tools for our client in the IT Services and IT Consulting industry.

Experience with Data Migration & Databricks is also essential for this role.

You will perform complex research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge, dynamic technology aimed at simplifying "Big Data" management.

This role involves extracting, loading, cleansing, translating, manipulating, analyzing, and visualizing large volumes of data using advanced technology and techniques, including migrating some processes/applications to Azure.

You will collaborate with talented colleagues across various skills and industry knowledge, working closely with internal business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver a product that exceeds customer expectations.

Required Skills/Experience

• Hands-on experience with Cloud Technologies - Azure/AWS
• Ability to work with complex data models
• Proficiency in development languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, JSON
• Knowledge of industry best practices including code coverage
• Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
• Experience working with Git - GitLab/GitHub
• Knowledge of test-driven development
• Strong desire to learn new processes and technologies
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in HPCC/ECL is highly preferable

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Collaborate with team members, Quality Analysts, and Business units to understand requirements and translate them into software designs
• Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall) and collaborate with stakeholders

• Make significant code design changes and serve as a primary contact for products they develop or own
