The VacancyJob PurposeSupport the development of MTC's BI Hub and data infrastructure:
Support requirements gathering, problem solving, data modelling, design, creation, testing and user/colleague guidance for already established BI hub and MTC's data infrastructure.
The main focus is on creating and maintaining data models, data pipelines, data processing and data integration to enable Application Owners to create PowerBI reports. All the aforementioned are based within Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
Support and further develop an established business intelligence data infrastructure.
CommunicationThis role requires extensive verbal & written communication skills
- With end users at all levels, in - non-technical terms.
- With members & management of MTC business functions with ownership in software products
- With Information Systems colleagues, especially project managers and architects.
As well as managing communications to the entire MTC business, in collaboration with Internal Communications department.
InnovationIdentifying how unique end user requirements can be met using standard software solutions.
Identifying solutions/software which add minimal complexity and support overhead.
Problem solving, troubleshooting and identifying how repeat issues can be avoided or mitigated through monitoring and OOTB use of software solutions.
KnowledgeBroad knowledge and working experience of various Microsoft Business Intelligence related applications and tools at multiple levels, more specifically: Fabric, Data lakes (BYDL 2.0), Synapse, Data Factory, DevOps (data pipelines), Purview, CDM Utility, Event Grid, Serverless SQL pools, Dedicated SQL pools, PowerBI (admin, apps, pipelines).
Skill set to communicate effectively at different levels - from individual users and managers to companywide communications.
Knowledge of D365 Finance, Project Operations, Sales, Customer Insights available and custom entities, data structures - preferred.
Ability to create, review, feedback on and manage high quality functional documentation. Business analysis skills, ensuring knowledge retention within Enterprise Applications department.
Able to liaise with 3rd parties and implement required changes.
ITIL qualification would be desirable at foundation level
