We currently have an opportunity for an Azure Data Architect to join our team based in Exeter. This is a Permanent Full-time position with a salary of £70,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

About the role

As Data Architect, you will define and drive the organisation’s data architecture to meet business objectives while ensuring alignment with governance and security standards. Leveraging Microsoft Azure’s data platform capabilities, you will design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Design and implement data solutions on Azure, using services like Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, Data Lake Store, Data Lake Analytics, Stream Analytics, Azure Storage, Cosmos DB, and more.
2. Make informed decisions on the strategic direction and roadmap for cloud platform use and DevOps methodologies.
3. Design scalable data models, metadata systems, and data catalogues aligned with business goals.
4. Define data migration and integration approaches, ensuring data accuracy, security, and consistency.
5. Implement and enforce data governance practices, setting standards and policies.
6. Optimize performance and resolve issues to ensure data accessibility and responsiveness.
7. Guide project teams on data architecture and manage the full data product lifecycle.
8. Collaborate with solution architects, enterprise architects, and business teams to align technical solutions with organisational goals.

What we are looking for:

1. Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role.
2. Deep understanding of database structure principles.
3. Experience with Azure data technologies such as Azure SQL, Data Factory, Data Lake, Cosmos DB, PowerBI, and SQL.
4. BSc in Computer Science, IT, or a relevant field.
5. Ideally based in Exeter, or out of our Bristol or Redhill office.
