Job summary

Willis Re Bermuda is seeking a Solution Architect to shape and deliver cloud-native solutions on Azure for greenfield initiatives. You will work with stakeholders and partners to own end-to-end designs across data, analytics and client platforms.

The role requires hands-on software engineering background, strong data and security focus, and the ability to guide engineering teams in a fast-moving environment. Contract role, 6 months, Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on software engineering experience transitioning to solution architecture.
• Experience in insurance or financial services preferred.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET or Python, SQL, and modern UI frameworks (React/Angular).
• Terraform and Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions experience.
• Security and compliance considerations in regulated financial services.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions on Azure.
• Architect data lake pipelines with governance for large data volumes.
• Define and govern third-party integrations via APIs and event-driven patterns.
• Embed zero-trust security, authentication and authorization in designs.
• Lead engineering standards and act as lead engineer when needed.
• Produce architecture artefacts and participate in ARB reviews.
• Promote AI-assisted engineering tools and practices.
