Job summary

Infoplus Technologies UK Limited is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, migrate and operate Azure-based platforms for scalable, secure, and cost-efficient solutions. You will lead automation, IaC practices and cloud operations across enterprise environments.

You will collaborate with business analysts, application teams, and data stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver robust Azure environments with governance and compliance in mind.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education in Mathematics, Computing or an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years total experience with 5+ years in Azure Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) for data-intensive solutions.
• Design, migrate and optimise data-intensive apps to Azure Cloud.
• Experience with Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake and related services.
• Proficient in IaC and DevOps with CI/CD and Terraform/Bicep/ARM.

Responsibilities

• As Azure Cloud Engineer, migrate and optimise complex application projects to Azure.
• Lead end-to-end Azure solution design and implementation with architects.
• Implement security controls and governance across cloud resources.

Job description

A Senior Cloud Engineer builds and operates the platforms and tooling that enable teams to develop, deploy, run and maintain the solutions consistently and efficiently. This role focuses on scalability, reliability, developer experience, and cost optimisation. Responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure across enterprise environments. They lead automation, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud operations initiatives with performance, and compliance standards are met.

This is for one of the leading aero-engine manufacturers in the UK, supporting the Design, Engineering, Manufacturing and other Digital & IT projects to enable the current market's emerging technologies in making faster turnaround times for production and services.

Your responsibilities:

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you are required to work on complex development and migration of application projects to Azure cloud. You will work with business analysts, application developers, architects and data stakeholders to understand the customer business cases and build Azure environment secured and scalable.

Key Accountabilities:

• Understanding the requirements and bringing out highly scalable Azure solution design and delivering end-to-end implementation, working with Azure architects
• Building and Implementation of environment setup in Azure cloud for applications, data team and DevOps.
• Understanding of the use of Docker, containers, and Kubernetes in development processes.
• Good coordination with Architects, App Developers, Data Engineers and POTs team for resolving infrastructure-related issues.
• Implementation of Azure cloud resources with security features enabled.
• Ownership of documentation, tracking and prioritising tasks and highlighting the foreseen blockers upfront
• Ensure the Azure cloud environment is implemented using best practices and as per architecture governance & compliance rules.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

• Degree-level education in Mathematics, Computing or an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of total experience with 5+ years in Azure Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) in relation to data-intensive solutions
• Designing solutions and implementation/migration of data-intensive applications to Azure Cloud.
• Design, configure and optimize data related service in Azure such as Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, Database & Batch services.
• Ability to design/implement/Troubleshoot end-to-end pipelines in the data platform for related projects.
• Configuring App Gateway, IaaS, AD, Firewall & Networking in the context of PaaS
• Implement SQL & NoSQL solutions in Azure Data platform.
• Experience migrating data from on-premises to a cloud environment.
• Exposure to Cybersecurity standards and implementation of cloud and resource controls to meet RR standards
• DevOps
• Knowledge of DevOps processes (including CI/CD) and Infrastructure as Code is essential.
• Expert working with IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, and PowerShell to automate deployment with Azure DevOps.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps using YAML pipelines and scripts with best practices.
• Good understanding of Git, Repos, Artifacts, Branching strategy, Conflicts, Policies, and pipelines as applied to data solutions
• Knowledge in Kubernetes and container technologies is an added advantage.
• Should be very good at troubleshooting VMs and other Azure services connectivity and firewall issues.
• Knowledge in setting up reverse proxy, traffic manager and gateway servers.
• Hands-on experience in implementing Security controls for Azure Services.
• Experience in RHEL and Ubuntu Linux.
• Experience working in an agile environment, within a self-organising team
