Job summary

Morson Edge (Technology) is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to support development, governance and optimisation of our clients' cloud platforms. You will work with the Cloud Architect, delivering hands-on delivery alongside architectural governance, resilience and assurance across a Microsoft Azure estate.

You will design, implement and secure Azure services, lead IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu, and collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to manage risks, costs and compliance,

Qualifications

• Evidence of Azure cloud-native services experience in regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking and security.
• Experience with Azure Firewall and network security controls.
• Experience with Terraform/OpenTofu and automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and container platforms.
• Understanding of cloud governance, resilience and disaster recovery.
• Experience in supplier-led delivery environments.
• Strong stakeholder and supplier-management skills.
• Ability to combine hands-on engineering with governance and architecture support.
• Experience in insurance or financial services is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, governance and optimisation of Azure cloud services, networking, storage and virtualisation.
• Manage and maintain Azure Firewall, Azure SQL and cloud security controls.
• Support CI/CD, containerisation and modern engineering practices.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code using Terraform / OpenTofu.
• Support the adoption of Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI.
• Contribute to cloud resilience, disaster recovery, backup and business continuity.
• Support monitoring, performance, capacity and cost optimisation.
• Provide technical assurance and challenge to third-party suppliers and solution designs.
• Support compliance with CIS, NIST and ISO frameworks.
• Work closely with technology teams, business stakeholders and suppliers to manage risks, dependencies and delivery.
