Azure Application Architect

Eviden partners with private and public sector organisations across Finance, Energy, Manufacturing, Media and Government, helping them to understand the true organisational value of utilising Microsoft integrated solutions.

Due to a period of successful expansion across our organisation, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Azure Technical Architect to join our Microsoft Practice in Eviden.

Role information

An Azure Technical Architect designs, builds, deploys, and maintains business applications and critical infrastructure inside the Azure Cloud. The need to have developed skills and expertise to help them design and build advanced cloud-based solutions and migrate existing workloads to the cloud.

Responsibilities are likely to include:

1. Architecting, building, and maintaining cost-efficient, scalable cloud applications for the organization.
2. Design / Build applications with C# and .net core
3. Leading a development team and providing guidance, carrying out reviews
4. Understanding business objectives of the client and creating cloud-based solutions to facilitate those objectives.
5. Migrating systems into the public cloud for more efficiency within the organization – aka digital transformation.
6. Keeping cloud applications secure and preventing downtime or security breaches using well architected frameworks.
7. Determining the risk associated with third-party platforms or frameworks.
8. Looking for ways to improve DevOps within clients to automate common tasks.
9. Transferring data and internal processes to cloud architecture.
10. Designing solution to keeping data leakage and downtime to an absolute minimum.
11. Keeping up to date on best practices in cloud computing and making improvements to the cloud infrastructure of the client.
12. Communicating with internal teams, like Sales, Operations, and IT.
13. Communicate with stakeholders and build applications to meet project needs.
14. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and monitoring solutions. Provide guidance on automation, containerization, and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
15. Produce high-quality technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, HLD’s/LLD’s/ implementation guides, and best practice recommendations.
16. In-depth knowledge of a wide range of Azure services, such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, Azure Networking.
17. Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices. Familiarity with Azure security tools and services, such as Defender, ATP, Azure Sentinel, Azure Key Vault, Entra and Azure Firewall.
18. Experience in designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions, integrating on-premises infrastructure with Azure services using technologies like Azure ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual Network, VPN Gateway, or Azure Arc.
19. Knowledge of Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics. Experience with data migration and integration strategies.

Essential Criteria

Most of our clients are UK Public Sector and Defence so require Security Clearance. In order to qualify for Security Clearance, you must have lived and worked in the UK for at least the last 5 years. If you are unable to meet this criteria, we cannot progress your application.
