Job summary

MAG is seeking an AWS-focused Infrastructure Architect to join our Platform Architecture team at Manchester Airport. You’ll design infrastructure that connects modern cloud platforms with essential on-premise services, shaping platforms for today’s operations and tomorrow’s innovation.

You’ll bring deep expertise in AWS, hybrid environments, governance and security, and you’ll provide technical leadership across delivery teams, ensuring secure, resilient and cost-effective solutions aligned to

Qualifications

• Design and own infrastructure architectures across AWS and hybrid estate.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure solutions.
• Partner with engineering, product, project and operational teams to deliver outcomes.
• Provide architectural leadership throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Review emerging technologies for MAG's platform strategy.
• Champion best practice across cloud, infrastructure and platform disciplines.
• AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer.
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as ISO27001 or NIST.

Responsibilities

• Design and own AWS infrastructure architectures for MAG's hybrid estate.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.
• Lead cross-functional teams through the delivery lifecycle.
• Ensure designs are secure, resilient, and cost-effective.
• Contribute to platform roadmaps and architecture governance.
• Review new technologies for future platform strategy.
• Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate technologies and options.
