Job summary

Lightfoot is seeking an AWS Cloud & Python Engineer to own end-to-end data transformation applications, writing clean Python and shaping AWS infrastructure.

You will build, modernise and deploy scalable data processing solutions using Terraform, Lambda, ECS, S3, SQS, and RDS, with CI/CD and monitoring via CloudWatch.

Hybrid/remote options from Exeter head office; attendance two to three weeks per visit, with two office days per visit.

Qualifications

• Dual expertise: Python software development and hands-on AWS deployment.
• Experience deploying cloud environments with Terraform.
• Familiarity with data processing and ETL workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Python applications for real-time telematics and large-scale data transformation.
• Provision, manage and scale AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Cost, latency and throughput optimization without compromising reliability.
• Deploy serverless and containerised workloads (Lambda, ECS, EC2).
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Monitor performance with CloudWatch and X-Ray for high availability.
