This role focuses on enhancing and securing a cloud-native platform by embedding secure-by-default practices and driving automation across engineering teams. The successful candidate will contribute to a culture of security, collaborating cross-functionally to improve tooling, support incident response and influence DevSecOps best practice adoption. It's a fast-paced, high-change environment, where development and security go hand in hand to enable safe and efficient delivery.

Required skills:

• Strong technical background with experience in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Bash)
• Proven track record in DevOps or engineering roles, with expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
• Knowledge of incident response processes, vulnerability management and incident triage
• Experience implementing security controls and maintaining security tools
• Familiarity with agile methodologies in fast-paced environments
• Calm, evidence-based decision-maker in high-pressure situations
• Innovative, with a focus on practical, cost-effective solutions
• Committed to continuous learning and improvement in Information Security

Key responsibilities & duties include:

• Deliver security engineering projects that automate and enhance security processes
• Maintain and improve existing security tools (e.g. CNAPP)
• Collaborate with product teams to design and implement secure-by-default patterns
• Advise engineering teams on cloud security and DevSecOps best practices
• Work closely with the IAG Group SOC to monitor and respond to security incidents
• Assist teams with prioritisation and remediation of security issues
• Build integrations to monitor, track and report on security programme performance
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call incident response rota (after probation)
