Job description

As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will help build clients' cloud platforms, pipelines, and tooling. You'll work directly with customers and each one must be able to explain technical content to people who might be less familiar with the technology. To us delivering quality solutions is more important than just "getting the job done". This means participating in various customer projects, from new infrastructure builds and migrations to audits and big data. Engineers are responsible for the detailed technical design of solutions (eg. what tech and how) as well as implementation, engineering best practices, and cloud/DevOps engineering work. Engineers can design and implement an excellent technical solution based on cloud platforms & relevant 3rd party tools. The main part of the work is designing and implementing cloud infrastructure mainly as code (infrastructure as code, application deployments, configuration management, etc.). This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personal Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NVS) may apply; this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Experience with CI/CD-based environments
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures
  • Experience developing with microservices, Lambda Functions, Appsync, DynamoDB, Queues, etc;
  • At least 3 years of cloud development of large-scale distributed cloud systems;
  • AWS deployment techniques SAM templates, YAML, and code deployments
  • Proficiency developing in multiple languages - JavaScript/Node.js, Java. Nice to have Python
  • Core AWS services that support applications, such as EKS, Databases, S3, EC2 etc
  • Hands-on advanced experience with Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab CI/CD) and experience around DevOps / FinOps is desired.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
  • All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and must meet the criteria & be willing to go through DV clearance
