Job summary

Catch22 is recruiting an Awareness and Prevention Practitioner for Child Exploitation to work across West Mercia, including Telford. You will develop and deliver group programmes, identify risk factors, and intervene early to prevent exploitation, while using trauma-informed approaches to build resilience and ensure safeguarding.

The role involves collaboration with multiple agencies, producing reports and resources, and promoting equality and inclusion in all activities.

Qualifications

  • Direct specialist knowledge of risk factors leading to exploitation and safeguarding principles.
  • Ability to design and deliver impactful interventions that support vulnerable young people and families.
  • Experience planning, delivering, and evaluating support activities, including resource packs, videos, and online engagement tools.
  • Qualification in youth work, or equivalent experience in creating online content for safeguarding or educational purposes.
  • Experience of working in partnership with a variety of agencies, using virtual platforms to achieve outcomes.
  • Extensive understanding of Child Protection and safeguarding processes.
  • Experience of writing high-quality reports and evaluations, demonstrating impact.
  • Application of Health and Safety and risk management principles.

Responsibilities

  • Increase awareness of how to access the specialist support service and other relevant services for young people and adults across West Mercia.
  • Ensure that you effectively monitor, report and evaluate outcome measures from the interventions and ensure GDPR compliance.
  • Be a proactive member of the service and team, attending meetings and training events required.
  • Ensure that the service promotes and reflects equality of opportunity and diversity at all levels.
  • Maintain and update professional knowledge and competencies, staying current with Catch22 policies and procedures.

Salary:£26.097 (£15,869.80 pro rata)

Contact:Permanent, part-time22.5 hours per week

Location: Office is Meeting Point House, Southwater, Shropshire, United Kingdom. This role covers all of the Telfordarea with occasional travel furtheracross West Mercia.

Our STEPS is an integrated Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) support service which spans across West Mercia. The four regions of West Mercia are Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Worcestershire.

Job Description

In your role you will:

  • Develop and deliver a range of group programmes, workshops and training packages for young people, professionals, parents & carers.

  • Maintain and update professional knowledge and competencies ensuring that you are up-to date on all relevant Catch22 policies and procedures, and are working in line with local and governmental frameworks such as Public Health England, Safeguarding etc.

Qualifications
