Job summary

Financial Times is seeking an Awards & Audience Development Executive to drive submissions and grow the awards portfolio across sectors and regions. You will identify entrants, engage organisations, and support entrants throughout the entry process.

You’ll combine entrant acquisition with relationship management, ensuring submissions are complete and well-illustrated for judges, while contributing to audience growth and commercial performance.

Qualifications

  • Proactive and highly organised approach to handle multiple projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships across organisations.
  • Commercially minded with focus on audience engagement and growth.
  • Confidently contacting entrants by email, phone and other channels.
  • Strong research skills to identify relevant organisations and contacts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping.
  • Strong copywriting and written communication abilities.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office or Google Workspace, especially Excel/Sheets.
  • Experience in events, awards, marketing, audience development or customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end delivery of multiple awards programmes running concurrently.
  • Proactively drive submissions across the FT Specialist awards portfolio.
  • Research and identify prospective entrants and relevant contacts across markets.
  • Develop targeted outreach to engage new and existing organisations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with entrants through personalised communication.
  • Guide organisations through the entry process and submission requirements.
  • Follow up with entrants to maximise completed submissions.
  • Monitor entries for completeness and adherence to requirements.
  • Maintain records of entrants, organisations, contacts and submissions.
  • Monitor progress against targets and identify areas needing activity.
  • Identify opportunities to expand participation across new sectors and markets.
  • Collaborate with Head of Awards Marketing to meet timelines and growth.
  • Share entrant feedback and market insights to improve processes.
  • Develop long-term relationships to encourage repeat participation.
