Job description

To manage payroll functions, including calculating employee pay, withholding taxes, and any other deductions, as well as maintaining accurate payroll records for the business.

Accountabilities

  1. Processing payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees, calculating taxes and other contributions, withholding, and disbursing payments appropriately.
  2. Managing employee payroll records and troubleshooting related issues.
  3. Providing guidance and support to employees on payroll matters, including salary calculations, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
  4. Ensuring compliance with statutory filings and managing responses to government notices related to statutory obligations.
  5. Handling payroll statutory reporting and liaising with relevant local tax authorities.
  6. Advising on decision-making, contributing to policy development, and ensuring operational effectiveness. Collaborating with other functions and business divisions.
  7. Leading a team performing complex payroll tasks, setting objectives, coaching, and appraising performance.
  8. Demonstrating leadership behaviours such as listening, inspiring, aligning, and developing others. For individual contributors, leading collaborative assignments and guiding team members.
  9. Consulting on complex issues and providing advice to support issue resolution.
  10. Identifying risk mitigation strategies and developing policies to support governance.
  11. Managing risks and strengthening controls related to payroll processes.
  12. Performing cross-functional work that contributes to organizational objectives.
  13. Collaborating across areas to stay aligned with business activities and strategy.
  14. Engaging in complex data analysis from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  15. Communicating complex or sensitive information clearly.
  16. Influencing stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
