Permanent AVP Infrastructure Network Operations Engineer - Cisco, Wi-Fi, Fortinet, SolarWinds, Infoblox, RSA

Job Purpose

The AVP - Infrastructure Network Operations Engineer will leverage their technical expertise and process improvement skills to optimize support of our network and datacentre infrastructure. The role involves monitoring network alerts, performing day-to-day operation tasks, and driving process improvements. The individual will excel in hands-on technical implementation and troubleshooting of various network technologies. Collaboration with L3 engineering and managed service providers is essential to align with company goals and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise, data center, and cloud network architectures.
2. Handle daily operational tasks, including troubleshooting connectivity issues and resolving operational tickets.
3. Follow strict change management processes for deploying firewall rule changes, firmware upgrades, and other network maintenance activities.
4. Monitor network infrastructure alerts using SolarWinds and participate in a monthly on-call rotation.
5. Serve as the primary contact for network incidents, perform diagnostics, and collaborate with L3 engineering, cross-functional teams, and vendors for resolution and root cause analysis.

What we're looking for:

Required Skills and Experience:

1. Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, routing protocols, route redistribution, filtering, L2 loop avoidance, and datacenter fabric using spine-leaf architecture (Cisco ACI).
2. Experience deploying and troubleshooting WLAN in centralized and cloud-based models.
3. Extensive experience with multi-vendor firewalls (Checkpoint, ASA, Fortinet), including implementing and troubleshooting firewall rules, NAT, and VPNs in segmented networks.

Specialized Skills & Knowledge:

Extensive knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting the following technologies:

• Security & Firewall Management: Multi-vendor firewalls (Firepower, ASA, Checkpoint), network segmentation, IPS, encryption (IPSEC, MACsec), VPN (Site-to-Site), NAC (Cisco ISE), RSA appliances.
• Enterprise Infrastructure: Routing & switching, protocols (OSPF, BGP), PBR, MPLS, VPN, SDWAN, STP, ACLs, advanced L2/L3 switching, QoS.
• Cloud Integration: Hybrid connectivity to AWS VPCs via Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, NAT Gateway, VPN; managing cloud security with security groups.
• Datacenter Infrastructure: Spine-leaf architecture, VxLAN fabric (Cisco ACI), Cisco NX-OS, RSA appliances, NetScaler.
• Wi-Fi Solutions: Centralized and cloud-based WLAN solutions; experience with Meraki is a plus.
• Monitoring: SolarWinds for alert monitoring.
• Troubleshooting: Firewall packet capture, CLI commands, Dynatrace and other tools.
