Job summary

Line Up Aviation seeks an Avionic Supervisor at RAF Odiham with SC clearance to lead a small team of technicians. Role includes supervision, mentoring and ensuring maintenance is delivered to schedule under MAA Part 145 approvals.

37.5 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 7am-3.30pm, Fri 7am-12.30pm; 12-month contract with starting hourly rate of £41 via Umbrella plus £3 after 6 months. Applicants must have a relevant trade apprenticeship and knowledge of aviation QA, SMS and RCAs.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, QA and SMS requirements.
• Proven ability to supervise, plan, sequence, distribute and control maintenance work for a small team.
• Chinook Q course is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver aircraft maintenance under Boeing's MAA MRP Part 145 approval or MOD customer approval.
• Oversee assembly, disassembly and modification of aerospace systems and components.
• Troubleshoot complex aircraft systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical) and isolate faults.
• Mentor technicians and provide guidance to peers.
• Escalate risks and issues promptly and contribute to continuous improvement.

Job description

Role: Avionic Supervisor
Location: RAF Odiham
Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-3.30pm Friday 7am-12.30am
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: SC required to start
Hourly Rate: 41/hour Via Umbrella, + 3/hour after 6 months.
Contract: 12 months initially.

Reporting to an Operations Lead, this role provides direct control, oversight, mentoring and is responsible for carrying out supervision of technicians in the execution of their maintenance activities. Will have a proven technical knowledge and the ability to supervise, plan, sequence, distribute and control technical work for a small group of aircraft technicians.

They must possess a working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) and the application of these requirements within their area of responsibility, accountability and authority (RAA).

Responsibilities:

• Deliver aircraft maintenance under Boeing's own MAA MRP Part 145 approval or under the approval of the MOD customer.
• Assembly, disassembly and/or modification of systems, changing, removing, replacing and/or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
• Perform routine troubleshooting of complex aircraft systems, such as pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical/electronic to isolate faults and repair faulty components IAW technical information published in authorized maintenance documents.
• Be flexible with work locations and work times to ensure aircraft are delivered on time to customer.
• Provide advice, guidance and mentoring to peers and others appropriate to their role.
• Exercise, or work under appropriate supervision for the role.
• Mitigate immediate risks including 'stop work' as well as **escalate** emerging risks, issues and shortfalls in a timely manner.
• Contribute to continuous improvement workshops and projects as required.
• Where directed, exercise 100% oversight of work carried out by Boeing Apprentices or Trainees as well as Apprentice/Trainee mentoring.
• Contribute positively to our open and honest reporting culture.
• There is an expectation that successful candidates will be eligible to apply for 2nd signature on type within their first 3 months in the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recognised relevant trade apprenticeship or trade experience equivalent.
• Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and processes applicable to the aviation environment (Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH).
• Proficient computer skills, use of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Be an effective team member within an inclusive company culture.
• Chinook Q course highly desirable.
