Job purpose:

We seek an electronics design engineer at our Farnborough facility to develop avionics sub-systems for our high-altitude Zephyr aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop analogue and digital circuits for harsh thermal and radiation environments
  • Manage the design of power sub-systems, including battery chargers, load management, and payload power supply
  • Coordinate unit testing of avionics systems
  • Oversee non-conformances throughout the design lifecycle
  • Document lessons learned and suggest improvements
  • Manage design changes via formal processes

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in analogue and digital electronic circuit design
  • Experience with power electronics, power supplies, and battery management systems
  • Capability to take a design from requirements to production, including testing and integration
  • Proficiency with electronic CAD tools
  • Experience in electronic component selection

Desirable:

  • Experience in aerospace or UAS industries
  • Knowledge of aerospace hardware standards DO-160, DO-254, ARP4754, ARP4761
  • Experience with PLM or ERP systems
