Job summary

A busy Soho-based post production facility is seeking an Avid Edit Assistant with 12 months+ relevant experience. You will support editors across multiple Avid cutting rooms and remote setups, handling rushes, media assets, and basic online tasks.

Key duties include importing/exporting in Avid Media Composer, transcoding paths, and QC for AS-11 DPP masters. Full Soho onsite role with no remote option.

Qualifications

• 12 months+ relevant post production experience required.
• Proficient in importing/exporting video and audio in Avid.
• Experience linking and transcoding rushes to ISIS/Nexis.
• Familiarity with AS-11 DPP master creation and QC basics.

Responsibilities

• Support editors and directors in multiple Avid cutting rooms and remote setups.
• Import/export video and audio; manage rushes and assets end-to-end.
• Conform material to broadcast resolutions and basic online tasks.
• Assist with master creation, QC, and file-based workflows.
• Upload media to web storage using FTP/Aspera/Signiant as needed.

Avid Edit Assistant

Busy West End based Post Production facility are looking for an Avid Edit Assistant to join the team.

Key Skills Required

Applicants for the position should have good experience in the following areas:

• Video & Audio Import & Export from Avid Media Composer
• Link & Transcode of Rushes to Avid ISIS/Nexis via Media Composer
• Experience transcoding to various formats using various transcoding software
• Supporting editor/director teams in multiple Avid cutting rooms / remote
• Management of rushes and edit assets from offline to Grade / Online / Sound
• Auto Conform of Material to Broadcast resolutions
• Creation of AS-11 DPP Masters incl. Visual and Filebased QC
• Basic Online and Mastering (editing) abilities inside Media Composer
• Experience uploading to web based storage (FTP/Aspera/Signiant or similar)
• Good understanding of HD/UHD codecs, colour spaces & frame rates
• Some experience with DaVinci Resolve would be ideal but not necessary.

• This role is fully Soho based. There are no remote / hybrid working options.
