About your new role

We are seeking a Solicitor to join the Aviation team in London. This role is part of the broader Specialty team, which handles a wide range of substantial and challenging work, primarily of a contentious nature. The successful candidate will be expected to handle a variety of aviation claims work, both domestic and international, including aviation insurance, reinsurance, coverage, and commercial work.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Proactively manage cases with minimal supervision
• Assist partners and team members with their caseloads
• Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and court documents
• Liaise with insurer and insured clients, experts, witnesses, counsel, and other parties
• Ensure compliance with client service level agreements, policies, and procedures
• Support business development initiatives
• Complete management information reports
• Support junior team members
• Assist with other tasks as allocated by partners or the Team Manager
• Uphold Weightmans’ and Aviation Team values

About You

• Up to 4 years PQE
• Experience in insurance is essential
• Experience in aviation litigation is preferred
• Experience with secondment to or employment in airline, aviation, or insurance organizations, along with relevant skills or language abilities, is advantageous
