Mitie Group plc. is seeking an Aviation Security Officer to operate X-ray screening, manage access control, and perform passenger and baggage checks at the airport environment.
The role involves daily tasks focused on security, safety, and high standards of customer service in line with procedures and client expectations. You will work on a 4-on/4-off day pattern, supporting incident reporting, communications, and collaboration with emergency services when required.

Provide and maintain a high-quality Aviation security service to our customer, partners, end users at the working location. To be delivered in line with our standard operating procedures and customer requirements in order to protect the customer's employees, property and other assets. Your typical daily routine will consist of:
Checking ID cards, tickets, passes and other documentation of staff, passengers and other personnel.
Checking documentation of vehicles, cargoes, drivers, passengers and other personnel.

Your commitment and attitude to safety is critical. You will be required to adhere to all safety and security protocols and principles across the customer site and ensure your teams do the same. You must always behave in a way that keeps yourself and others safe and set expectation of the same high standard from your team.

COMPETENCIES - ESSENTIAL - these are the skills, knowledge or experience you must have to do the job
Previous experience is desirable and likely to have been gained in an armed service, civil police and/or Airport environment. The post-holder is required to be educated to a satisfactory standard, physically fit, well presented and hold a current driving licence that is free of endorsement. Colour deficiency test (must be able to clearly define colours to interpret X-Ray) will be carried out at interview
5-year background check will be carried out on all candidates and you will need to provide a Criminal Record Check when requested
Successful candidates will be required to, or be provided with the following Regulated Agent (CSO)- NASP Access control / Aircraft Search and Protection, - NXCT Cargo certification and - Recognition of Firearms and Explosives
Literacy assessment (required to complete Flight reports/ Incident reports and Security declarations)

Good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
