Aviation Safety Investigator

Job Title: Aviation Safety Investigator
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Salary: £50-60k per annum

Key Responsibilities

• Lead investigations into aviation incidents, occurrences, and accidents in line with Safety Management System (SMS) processes.
• Act as the first responder in aviation incident deployments, including international travel to site if required.
• Deliver detailed safety recommendations to mitigate future risks.
• Proactively review aviation incident reports to identify the need for further investigation.
• Drive continuous improvement of investigation processes and safety procedures.
• Engage with stakeholders to resolve issues identified during investigations.
• Manage the Event Review Group (ERG) process and contribute to post-incident reviews.
• Promote and support a positive safety culture in alignment with the organisation’s SMS.

Experience

• Qualified Aviation Safety Investigator with demonstrable experience in safety investigations.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within the aviation industry in a safety, flight operations, or engineering capacity.
• Strong background working with Safety Management Systems and aviation regulations.
• Proven experience implementing new processes and procedures.

Qualifications

• Aviation Safety Investigation certification or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using specialist safety and investigation software.
