Job description

Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator, are hiring an Aviation Principal to join the team on a long term contract in Aberdeen.

The Aviation Principal, Operations Logistics is responsible for safe and efficient aviation operations to upstream assets in EPI UKI as well as other BAs as determined by Service Level Agreements
• Responsible to assure governing documentation, adherence to industry standards and appropriate personnel competence, to support aviation operations.
• Responsible for task supervision of the aviation team

Key responsibilities and deliveries:

• Understand and manage aviation risk, implement mitigations, and carry out assurance activities
• Apply technical/functional expertise in the delivery of tasks according to prioritised BA and Logistics strategies,
• Supervise the aviation team and promote a safe, diverse, inclusive, and healthy working environment
• Act as Company Representative for Aviation and associated contracts, driving value from contracts and following up performance
• Input into Logistics and Stakeholder’s planning and assuring tactical planning of aircraft assets, crew and flying schedules
• With a cost-conscious mindset, follow up on monthly budget performance and time writing reporting
• Act as Air and Sea Branch Director (Emergency Response) role and Logistics on-call duty (1 in 6 weeks rotation)
• Driving continuous improvement and digital pilots/projects to deliver increasing value and reducing Scope 3 emissions.

Critical Skills and Behaviours

• Extensive industry experience in similar role.
• Previous experience as an Aviation Operations Supervisor in the offshore Oil and Gas industry or similar
• Ability to deliver on Company values and live by safety expectations.
• Safety and compliance focused mindset and continually striving for solutions and improvements.
• Stakeholder engagement including internal customers, cross business discipline peers, industry workgroups and government body liaison (CAA, HCA, OEUK, IOGP for example)
• Comprehensive understanding of aviation logistics processes, industry and discipline standards and performance acceptance criteria.
• Commercial understanding of the logistics budget, costs and value chain
• Building industry and cross BA networks to promote efficiency, knowledge sharing and Operator resource sharing programs.
• Acknowledged SME and share your knowledge and experience with others.
• Focused change and communication management in key strategic projects
