Dobson Sound is part of Vision Group Holdings, a rapidly growing multifaceted leader in technical event solutions. Dobson provides both the equipment and the technical expertise to hundreds of projects a year in the events space – from film premieres to fashion shows, and from large-scale corporate shows to simple dry hires.
The exciting role on offer is to join the continually growing team in a warehouse-based operations role – well suited to someone who is interested in process, quality, and stock control. The ideal candidate needs to have an eye for attention to detail and organisation, as well as a willingness to see over the general tidiness of the warehouse. MUST HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE OF THE EVENTS INDUSTRY AND WAREHOUSE LEADING EXPERIENCE.
The Role:
Core hours to be decided – based on a 40-hour week. However, given the needs of the industry, flexibility on hours is crucial with the occasional weekend and evening work in the form of overtime and time in lieu where applicable.
The role will be based out of our South Wimbledon warehouse, with the occasional need to work at other companies that are part of the Visions group based in Bracknell.
Assisting the Hire & Logistics Manager in improving warehouse processes & procedures to help increase productivity.
Managing the Warehouse and Logistics team’s workflow in the absence of the Hire & Logistics Manager.
Pulling, prepping, and de-prepping of dry and wet hires.
Heading the warehouse in quality control - directing staff in producing uniformed hires to the same quality, no matter the size of the project.
Leading in warehouse tidiness ensuring equipment is stored correctly, keeping working areas free for prepping where possible.
Managing outsourced crew and engineers in busy periods, and on the de-prepping of larger scale projects.
Supervising and helping with the loading and unloading of vehicles.
Maintaining a safe working environment in the warehouse, managing the health and safety of the day-to-day warehouse movements.
Liaising with the Hire & Logistics Manager in the maintenance of both equipment and cabling repairs.
Helping to maintain cable, equipment, and flight cases where possible. You will be expected to carry out a certain level of cable repairs.
Using the hire software, keeping all incoming and outgoing equipment documentation up to date.
Managing incoming and returning Sub-hires, making sure they are fully checked, recorded, and assigned to the appropriate job. Liaising with the Hire & Logistics Manager on any shortfalls that may have been missed.
Ensuring job returns are completed properly and up to date, reporting any repairs and missing items to the Hire & Logistics Manager in a timely manner as well as digitally recording them.
Helping with periodic stock checking, PAT testing, and LOLER testing of stock.

TIDY and organised with good attention to detail. This is an absolute necessity for the candidate.
Capable of following instruction, giving instruction, and asking questions.
Happy working as a team as well as being self-motivated and able to work alone.
Accountable and honest.
Proactive, agile, and willing to learn new skills.
Competent with Microsoft Office and able to learn and adapt to various hire software.
Experience:
Proven warehouse experience within the world of the audio-visual events rental market with a knowledge of stock control and electrical safety testing.
Some hands-on experience in the use of audio-visual equipment.
MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE and be confident in driving vans. Although this is not a driving job, everyone in the company needs to jump in a van from time to time.
