Job summary

Live Wire Productions in Banbury, Oxfordshire, seeks an AV Technician to support Formula 1 and live events across the UK. The role is UK-based with occasional travel, focusing on equipment preparation, testing, and on-site delivery.

You will work in a hands-on technical production environment, maintain high standards, assist with stock and training, and help develop our systems for world-class events.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the AV, events, technical production or broadcast industry.
  • Good understanding of audio, video and lighting equipment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience supporting training or mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Preparation & Event Support: Prepare equipment for Formula 1 and live event deployments; build, test and configure AV systems prior to dispatch; ensure all gear is functional, labelled and documented.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Testing: Maintain equipment to high standards; perform preventative maintenance; carry out PAT testing and fault diagnosis; keep records up to date.
  • Warehouse & Stock Management: Conduct stock counts; maintain stock records; manage returns; ensure safe and organised warehouse environment.
  • Formula 1 Event Support: Provide remote support to travelling technicians; assist with race prep and logistics planning; review returned equipment for servicing.
