Job description

BAU AV Technician Paddington, London.

We are recruiting for a BAU AV Technician to work as part of a team in delivering AV support for a Paddington-based medical science client's meeting rooms and event spaces. The role involves ensuring meeting rooms are properly set up, equipment is functional, and end users are familiar with the equipment to provide exceptional service. The role requires flexibility, including working shifts from 07:00 to 15:00 and support for client events that may extend into the evening. The technician will support all aspects of AV, including client meetings, webinars, and live events.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
  1. Support inside and outside the client’s offices, including setting up and maintaining AV equipment.
  2. Proactively raise issues concerning AV equipment operation.
  3. Set up video/audio calls and liaise with all parties involved.
  4. Assist with webinars, conferencing, and collaborative technologies.
  5. Provide ad hoc technical support for clients, including internet, laptop, and TV issues.
  6. Monitor and maintain the meeting room AV and telephony equipment.
  7. Provide technical training to support teams.
  8. Set up presentation equipment and test all equipment regularly.
  9. Conduct inductions on meeting room equipment for new starters.
  10. Manage AV bookings and support events with equipment and multimedia software.
  11. Rig and de-rig audio, lighting, video, sound systems, and display equipment following health and safety regulations.
  12. Maintain an organized working environment and manage AV inventory.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least three years' experience in a client-facing corporate meetings/events environment.
  • Ability to deliver high standards within a corporate head office setting.
  • Excellent computer skills and adaptability to new software.
  • Hands-on experience with conferencing hardware and software.
  • Desirable: experience with digital sound desks, multi-camera control, vision mixing, control systems (QSC), video & audio conferencing, display types, stage lighting, PowerPoint, MS Windows, and IT qualifications.
  • Energetic, proactive team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under pressure with attention to detail.
