Job summary

Encore in London is seeking an experienced Audio Visual - Technical Lead to plan, set up and operate complex AV systems for live events. You will lead onsite teams, coordinate resources and support the Technical Manager as needed.

The role emphasises delivering world-class customer service, proactive problem solving and hands-on equipment supervision across multiple events, with progression opportunities within a global organisation.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of field AV experience.
  • 3-5 years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse work force, customer base and senior level management.
  • Experience with project management of multiple tasks/initiatives.
  • Strong customer, client and co-worker interface experience and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drives Results - Ensure a flawlessly executed event through setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment.
  • Troubleshoots technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.
  • Do the Right Thing - Complies with all Company security and safety measures.
  • Reporting all health and safety issues to the HSE Manager, line manager or Project Manager onsite.
  • Ensures equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use.

Audio Visual - Technical Lead
Salary: Around £30,000- £35,000 (depending on experience)

Position Overview

The Technical Lead is a point of contact responsible for the planning, set up and operation of small to large-scale audio-visual systems for live events while ensuring the utmost in client satisfaction. The position often requires the individual to act as a team leader for the onsite departmental teams, planning department resources and contributing towards department improvements. There may also be occasions where the individual may be required to deputise for the Technical Manager/Group Head. This position reports to the Technical Manager relevant to the department.

Equipment Operation

Training/Staff Development

Event Supervision
  • Performs advanced work (pre/during/post event) with operations team members.
  • Supervises and directs other technicians during an event.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Assists team with proper preparation, security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Performs inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.
Local/Regional deputizing
  • See the Bigger Picture –Take ownership of local/regional department running allowing Technical Manager/Group Head to focus more on their day-to-day tasks.
  • Drives Results –Assist with training and coaching enabling junior members of staff to perform their duties to the best of their ability.
  • Take ownership of department related activities and tasks from a local/regional level if different to Technical Manager/Group Head
