Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a CAD Draughtsperson to join a provider of Audio/Visual systems based in Wymondham, Norfolk. This business supplies organisations and institutions around the world and has a long-standing reputation for excellence.

As an AV/IT CAD Technician, you will work as part of a team providing professional AV/IT CAD services and drawings to external and internal clients. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Creating full dimensioned AV/IT drawings to customer specifications, producing documents that comply with industry standards.
2. Marking up client-supplied drawings with AV/IT service requirements.
3. Producing ‘proof of concept’ layout drawings to assist with AV/IT solution specifications.
4. Assisting with schematic diagram production in conjunction with the AV Architect.
5. On-site support for some projects, including site surveying to support technical drawings.

Essential requirements:

• UK Driving licence
• Competency in 2D AutoCAD software preferred
• Competency in 2D/3D software drawing packages (BIM)
• GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science at grades A-C
• Ability to convert verbal and written information into two-dimensional drawings
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Proficiency in 3D & 2D CAD packages
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical individuals
• Self-driven and results-oriented
• Willingness to work extended hours as required
• Ability to use access equipment and physically install hardware at client sites
• Maintains a good sense of humor under pressure and deadlines
• Teamwork skills

Desirable attributes/knowledge:

• CTS certification
• Experience with computer networks and streaming technologies
• Experience with large-scale presentation systems, video conferencing, digital signage
• Knowledge of AV & IT systems integration, signal switching, processing, distribution, control via AMX/Crestron
• Experience with AV switching, scaling, distribution systems
• Networking, streaming, and audio systems knowledge
