Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Limited is seeking an experienced Lecturer in Motor Vehicle for a permanent role in Southeast London. You will plan and deliver engaging motor vehicle sessions, combining practical workshops with theory to help learners progress to employment or further study.

You will assess progress, provide timely feedback, and maintain a safe workshop environment while keeping abreast of industry developments to inform teaching.

Qualifications

• Relevant industry experience in motor vehicle repair, maintenance or a related trade
• A recognised motor vehicle qualification at Level 3 or above
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners
• Desirable: A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
• Desirable: Experience teaching or assessing in a further education setting

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering motor vehicle lessons that meet the needs of all learners
• Assessing learner progress and providing constructive, timely feedback
• Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop environment in line with health and safety requirements
• Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and progress towards employment or further study
• Keeping up to date with developments in the motor vehicle industry and reflecting these in your teaching
