Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer for its Blue Bear initiative in Bedfordshire. You will develop, test and deploy safety-critical flight software, contribute to requirements, and perform flight tests at our nearby facility.

The role requires aerospace education, aerodynamics knowledge, and hands-on control systems experience with MATLAB/Simulink. National Vetting clearance to SC level is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
• Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics and their impact on flight control.
• Experience in using MATLAB/Simulink for developing algorithms and control laws.
• Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning control systems.
• Existing SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety-critical software for flight systems.
• Contribute to requirements definition and use MATLAB/Simulink to generate software.
• Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real-world flight testing near the office.
• Support development of standard operating processes and continuous improvement of methods.
