Job summary

DHU Healthcare seeks an Advanced Practitioner for its Urgent Treatment Centre in Corby. The role focuses on frontline triage, with autonomous practice, independent prescribing and mentoring of junior staff.

You will assess, diagnose, treat or refer patients and interpret diagnostic tests with limited supervision. Applicants must hold independent prescriber status and have completed at least two Level 7 modules, including clinical examination assessment, with a willingness to progress to an MSc

Qualifications

• Independent prescribing status required.
• Experience demonstrating autonomous practice in a multi-professional team.
• Clinical assessment and differential diagnosis skills.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat or refer patients at triage.
• Lead on safe, evidence-based care in triage.
• Practice autonomously without direct supervision.
• Conduct and interpret diagnostic investigations.
• Prescribe medicines within extended non-medical prescribing rules.
• Liaise with specialist services and manage handovers/referrals.
• Maintain clinical records per governance guidelines.
• Supervise, delegate to and coordinate staff daily.
• Mentor and train junior staff and students.
• Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement.
