Job summary

DHU Healthcare invites applications for an Urgent Treatment Centre Advanced Practitioner at Royal Derby Hospital UTC. The post offers full‑time hours (37.5), autonomy in assessment and treatment, and collaborative work with GPs, nurses and pharmacists to deliver rapid urgent care.

Successful candidates will be registered clinicians with independent prescribing rights, and hold Level 7 qualification modules.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the appropriate professional body and hold independent prescribing rights.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a multi‑professional UTC setting.
• Proven experience in advanced clinical assessment and urgent care decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients with minor illnesses and injuries in the UTC.
• Work autonomously within a supportive multi‑professional team.
• Contribute to the effective running of the UTC and ensure safe patient care.
• Demonstrate autonomous physical assessments and appropriate management plans.
• Interpret basic diagnostic tests and imaging when required.
• Provide patient‑centred care with a focus on safe discharge or admission when indicated.
