Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for flexible sessional work across primary care clinic settings in St. Austell. You will lead autonomous NP clinics and support GP teams with minor illness assessments and routine primary care duties.

The role offers flexible shifts across weekday, evening or weekend slots, suitable for ad-hoc or ongoing bookings in local GP clinics. Enhanced DBS clearance is required and Independent Prescribing is desirable.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Practitioner with relevant experience.
• Independent Prescribing qualification desirable.
• Strong minor illness and clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different practice environments.
• Familiarity with EMIS Web or SystmOne.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Running autonomous NP-led clinics within primary care settings.
• Managing minor illness and undifferentiated presentations.
• Conducting face-to-face and telephone triage.
• Prescribing safely within scope of practice (if qualified).
• Completing clinical follow-up actions including results and medication queries.
• Maintaining accurate digital clinical documentation.
