Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in the United Kingdom is seeking an Automation & Platform Engineer to design, implement and operate automation workflows, orchestration pipelines and infrastructure required to execute autonomous network actions safely.

You will build repeatable automation playbooks, integrate with network controllers and cloud platforms, and implement guardrails, RBAC and audit logging to support secure, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automation and platform engineering experience in telecom or cloud environments.
• Strong experience with Ansible, Terraform, Python, REST APIs, and automation pipelines.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience integrating with network controllers, OSS, cloud platforms and vendor APIs.
• Knowledge of TMF Open APIs and telecom automation frameworks.
• Ability to implement safe automation with rollback, validation, audit, RBAC and policy controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation workflows for autonomous network use cases.
• Build intent-to-configuration pipelines translating validated intents to actions.
• Develop reusable automation playbooks, templates, modules, and orchestration workflows.
• Implement automation using Ansible, Terraform, Python, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate with EMS/NMS, SDN controllers, cloud platforms, OSS, inventory, assurance, and orchestration systems.
• Build secure API-based execution frameworks using REST, TMF Open APIs, NETCONF/RESTCONF, gRPC and vendor APIs.
• Implement execution guardrails including policy validation, approval gates, rollback, and audit logging.
• Develop platform capabilities for AI/LLM-driven agents to trigger network actions safely.
• Support deployment and operation of AI platforms such as Vertex AI or similar.
• Integrate with vector databases, graph APIs, data pipelines, MCP servers, and automation backends.
• Support Kubernetes-based deployment of automation services, agent services, APIs, and microservices.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code for platform environments and network automation resources.
• Ensure automation platforms meet security, compliance, availability, observability and resilience.
