Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot diesel engines on our autonomous surface vessels. The role focuses on reliability of maritime propulsion and related systems, with emphasis on preventative maintenance and diagnostics.

The ideal candidate has marine diesel experience, a strong mechanical background, and the ability to travel internationally for onboarding and training, including a lengthy session at our Austin, Texas headquarters.

Qualifications

• Marine Diesel and/or Volvo VODIA experience required
• GCSEs (or equivalent) are required; vocational qualification preferred
• Proven experience as a diesel technician or diesel mechanic
• Able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Familiar with diagnostic tools used in diesel engine repair

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines (oil changes, filters, fluids)
• Diagnose and repair diesel engine malfunctions and electrical faults
• Inspect and test engine components to identify problems
• Overhaul and rebuild engines and fuel systems as needed
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service histories
• Follow safety protocols for diesel engines and equipment
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers and operators to solve issues
