Job summary

WF GP Federation is recruiting bank GPs to cover extended access shifts, focused on telephone and face-to-face consultations. Roles involve autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment within protocols, with a strong emphasis on maintaining accurate records.

Shifts run weekday evenings and weekend daytime, in collaboration with nursing and administration teams. Applicants need GMC registration, a place on a performers list, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care

Qualifications

• MRCGP or equivalent.
• Recent evidence of ongoing academic and professional development.
• Valid GMC registration.
• Licence to practise.
• Currently on a performers list.
• Experience of Microsoft Office software.
• Team player within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Works under own initiative.
• Adheres to the Confidentiality Code and data protection regulations.
• Interest in and enthusiasm for general practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face and telephone appointments on extended access shifts.
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• Triage and prioritise patients with history taking.
• Evaluate information and decide on treatment, referral or discharge.
• Refer patients to appropriate care settings where necessary.
• Prescribe, supply or administer medication under agreed protocols.
• Keep accurate, contemporaneous records of every contact.
• Work with nursing and admin teams and with other care providers.
• Follow federation policies and procedures.
• Help develop an integrated approach to patient care.
• Provide clinical support.
• Maintain high-quality service standards.
