Job summary

Brandon James, a North West fire safety consultancy, seeks an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join their growing team. You will carry out risk assessments for a portfolio of predominantly low-risk commercial properties and deliver clear, proportionate fire safety advice.

The role involves managing own workload, travelling to client sites across the UK, producing detailed assessments and reports in line with current legislation and guidance.

Qualifications

• Recognised fire risk assessment qualification at Certificate/Level 3 or above.
• Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance.
• Membership of a recognised fire safety body would be advantageous.
• Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple appointments.
• Full UK driving licence; flexibility to travel, occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Completing suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments across commercial premises
• Identifying fire hazards and recommending appropriate risk-control measures
• Producing clear reports, action plans and remedial recommendations
• Advising landlords, facilities teams, contractors and other stakeholders
• Supporting clients with improvements to fire safety arrangements
• Maintaining knowledge of current UK fire safety legislation and best practice
• Contributing to internal quality assurance and assessment validation processes
