Job summary

Shirley Parsons Health & Safety Advisor required for a field-based position across the Oxford/Watford region. You will report to the Health & Safety Manager, working with site teams to maintain high safety standards and plan site visits for refurbishment and asbestos removal projects.

The role offers a company car or car allowance, a pension, ongoing development, and IOSH membership progression within a respected contractor operating across the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven Health & Safety experience within the construction industry.
• Experience refurbishing and specialist construction projects.
• Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
• Strong auditing, inspection and incident investigation experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel extensively and stay away overnight.
• NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 Diploma.
• OSH Membership (GradIOSH, CertIOSH or CMIOSH).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional health and safety advice across multiple construction, refurbishment, and asbestos removal projects.
• Plan and manage your own programme of site visits, prioritising support based on project complexity and risk profile.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
